Columbia, Missouri Jul 15, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Roselynn Orr, a Hallsville High School freshman, from the Hallsville FFA Chapter, attended the 9th annual Helping Youth Maximize their Agricultural eXperience (HYMAX) Academy.  This innovative agricultural leadership academy was held at the Missouri FFA Camp Rising Sun at the Lake of the Ozarks on June 18th and 19th.

HYMAX is a prestigious State Leadership Academy sponsored by the Missouri FFA Association. The 2021 HYMAX Academy provided extensive leadership training focusing on developing self, teamwork, agriculture advocacy, and learning how to enhance their Supervised Agricultural Experience. FFA members attending HYMAX 2021 were taught by agriculture and leadership experts, along with touring non-traditional agriculture businesses.

The top 75 freshmen in Missouri were selected to participate in HYMAX through a competitive written application process based on their FFA leadership involvement, community engagement, and academics. HYMAX Academy members were mentored by
Missouri State FFA Officers, college student aged Small Group leaders, Agricultural Educators, and Missouri FFA State Staff.

Roselynn Orr is the first in Hallsville FFA history to be selected to attend this prestigious academy and plans to utilize her new skills to enhance her current SAE's (Supervised Agricultural Experiences). Orr also has big plans to develop a digital cloud platform that will create and promote FFA "Farmers Markets" throughout greater mid-Missouri.
